Renewable Green Energy initiatives that are endorsed by the Province are consistent with the Municipality of Port Hope’s Economic Development Plan and Corporate Strategies.

The REM Facility is viewed as a "Green Energy" Business, diversifying Port Hope’s rural economy and building on current industry strength’s.

The REM Facility when completed and fully operational will employ approximately 70 staff along with the employment opportunities for local trades and businesses through the procurement of the equipment and construction of the facility as well as environmental and renewable energy benefits.
